I was so pleased after Christmas to get the house back in order and get all the boxes of gifts and bits out of my room. So what do you do when you have a bit of peace and order? Create chaos of course!
Camerons room is the smallest room in the house and if I'm honest the one I put the least effort into doing.
He did used to have the bigger room, but Caitlin just has so much STUFF we decided to swap them round with the bribe of lots of technology in cams room ;) Since then besides painting it grey rather than pink I've not done much. I've made him decorations and got him a new bed, but it's nowhere near the co-ordinated prettiness of Caitlins room :)
So we decided this year we would gut Cams room, redecorate, new carpet, new furniture the lot. I think Mark expected me to do it in Summer or something but that was just silly, first week of January I had I all picked out and planned, accessories and carpet all ordered and exsisting furniture dismantled. :) I can't wait to see his face when it's all done.
As well as the DIY I've been scrapping up a storm! I've mainly been working with the kit I made at the start of the month, though I have added a few more embellishments to it as I found I started to run low pretty quickly.
So far I've made 12 layouts and I think I can get another 4-5 out of it before I consider it killed. Might make my next kit a little smaller as I'm getting a bit bored of it now I think.
This was one of the first layouts I did.
I love this photo. When we were at Spain we saw a cowboy show including a man doing dancing and tricks with a horse. You can see how thrilled the girls were with this. They wanted to go and play on the bouncy castle, £90 a head well spent, lol.

8 going on 18
I don't know if it's a hormonal thing, or if some demon has decided to posses her, but everything is a battle with my daughter at the moment! Seriously if I ask her to wear tights, she wants to wear socks, shoes that fit fine 2 weeks ago now either look stupid or are too uncomfortable to even consider wearing! Stressed!
My fluffy baby isn't very happy either. He is such a marshmallow and does not like cold weather. Yesterday he was sulking around the living room in a mood until I made him a hot water bottle. I am so under the thumb of everyone in this house *rolls eyes*
This morning I also managed to belt my head off the corner of a shelf so hard I saw stars, so coffee with my Mum was very needed today. Felt much better after a venting session and getting a few jobs done.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to do the same :) Next week we're getting his flooring done so need to have it all repainted and sorted by then. I'm so excited to get it all done for him, he was put in the smaller room a couple of years ago and except from painting it form pink to grey I've not done much with it. Hes such a patient kid and I can't wait to give him a decent room. Think I'm more excited than him!
I love this photo in this layout. If you haven't seen it Disney Dreams is just breathtaking. My Mum isn't a huge Disney fan and even she said it was incredible.
Obviously its not easy to get a photo of a giant castle in the dark without a decent camera but I was pretty proud of this one I took with my little point and shoot.
I think this layout was for a challenge where I had to use only 6x6 pp and washi. Not a huge amount of bits used but I like the effect :)

You & me
Ok so we're on Monday now? I've no idea whats going on anymore lol. The weekend just went in a puff of smoke I swear!
Sunday the kids started Jado lessons which they both loved. We've been trying to get Cameron to go for a while as he used to do karate and it made such a difference to his confidence. He wasn't keen on going however so we thought sending Caitlin too would make it easier. Not cheap, but easier.
Seemed to work as both came out buzzing about what they had learned and spent tonight practicing together in the living room. :)
Hope it helps as poor Cam had a bad night tonight as they'd changed groups, seating etc in school and it was just too overwhelming for him. Lots of tears and cuddles :( Before I knew it it was bedtime and besides making dinner I'd done nothing. Almost finished a layout last night and hoping to do it tonight. Good job I had a nap in the cinema today as Assasins creed was a BORING film!!!!
I did do this layout last week though. Don't like it granted but I did it, hehe.
Id decided to try a more mixed media background but it just seemed to end up dark and mucky looking. I ended up covering up most of it with patterned paper and embellishments.
The end result is actually my 3rd attempt after changing the paper, adding more mists, deciding I didnt like that so changing the papers again.
By the time it had got to the layout you see here I was sick of looking at it. Oh well, its done. Loving the layout I'm doing at the moment though :)

Challenge yourself - Wonderful world.
Ok Im sorry I'm late posting this, but how is it the 7th already?! It was Christmas just yesterday wasn't it?!
I don't know what its like where you live but it is SO depressing here! The murky, grey, wet weather, bags of rubbish everywhere and all the pretty Christmas lights gone :( So I was pleased to see this months challenge was to create a layout using the lyrics to "What a Wonderful World," by Louis Armstrong, as I really could use some positivity!
Here are the lyrics:
"I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world."
When I think of a wonderful world I always think of Christmas. Some people stress and get mad but others give more and charity is more common. While we're not rich my kids have never gone without and I feel it's important they learn how fortunate they are and help others.
To this end every year I give them both a large bag and they fill it with toys they don't play with to donate to charity, we also do a shop for our local food bank and also donate to kennels too. This year I was so proud that they both decided to use their pocket money to fill a shoebox each with toys and products as part of operation christmas child.
This year we were doing our annual shop for our local food bank when we saw the coke truck and couldn't resist taking photos :)
I'm using up one of my DIY kits I made for Inkie Quills Get kitted class. This is the first project I've done from it and I'm loving it so far :)
Using up ribbon and lots of ollllllld embellishments.
So what makes you think of a wonderful world? Thanks for looking at my take on this challenge and I can't wait to see yours!

Best laid plans.....
So the kids went back to school on Thursday and I planned to get loads done.....then I woke with a very painful stomach and feeling dizzy :( So rather than cleaning and visiting the tip my day was all about napping, reading my Kindle in bed
and when I did get downstairs big mugs of hot chocolate.
I don't know why but whenever I have a poorly stomach or feeling rough hot chocolate always helps.
So today I felt MUCH better. :) Managed to get lots of cleaning done and reorganising the kids rooms so most of the Christmas bits have homes now. Camerons room is a bit of a mess still but we're planning on redoing his room with new furniture etc over the next two months so a lot of his stuff will find homes then.
So tidy house, washing done, time to craft :) I had planned a layout the other night but never got it done so hoping to finish it tonight.
Also hoping to not blind myself! Was watching 10 cloverfield land while cutting out a flower and some guy got shot, I jumped and almost stabbed myself in the eye with scissors!
Think safety goggles might be needed.

Dentist
Well today was very meh. The kids are ready to go back to school and I'm SO ready to get back into routine.
First though Mark had to go to the dentist. Over Christmas Caitlin gave him a sweet to eat and he managed to break half of his filling off so needed to get that sorted. Thankfully didn't take too long so quick trip to Asda for essentials and we were home!
Somehow though that very small trip seemed to sap everyone energy. I don't know if it's the past few weeks catching up with us now but the rest of the day just seemed to go and besides a large basket of ironing I honestly couldn't tell you what we did. I did a bit of scrapping, but I think it took me about 2 hours to do a layout and I don't even like it!
Did catch up on some TV though. Love having Now TV on my ipad, gives me something to watch when Mark or the kids have stole the TV.

Pokemon go.
So its the second of January and I've finished a book and done one and a half layouts. Not a bad start :)
Another of my aims that I forgot to mention yesterday is to collect the original 146 pokemon in pokemon go. I know there are 150 but nobody has got the 3 legendary or mewtwo yet so I don't even know if they're available.
I'm currently on 120 at the moment so few more to go :)
Scamp is usually more than happy to help me in my search, think today might be a little chilly for him though!

Happy new year!
So its officially 2017! My blogging went to pot in December but so did everything else lol.
We had a great time though, ice skating, trip to legoland, cinema, shopping, lots of making memories :)
But its a new year and time for new aims and all that. Last year I had aimed to read 52 books, and do 365 layouts.
I didnt do too badly, final count was 216 layouts and 38 books. I've set myself the same aim this year with an extra one that I kill a kit a month.
At the moment, these are my kits. Some I bought through subscriptions, some I made myself with my stash, but there are WAY too many of them.
So what does the girl with too many kits do, make another one of course! I bought an online class a while ago from Inkie Quill about making a kit and projects you can do from it. So these are my embellishments.
and these are my papers.
Stay tuned to see what I do with it!
