crafty week

Well this weeks been quite a crafty week. :) Unfortunatly not much for me but the kids, lol. I havent managed any scrapping or anything at all. :( Admitted defeat this morning as still not done last months sketch challenge. Haven tried and did get it started but by the time I've settled kids into bed and tidied up I can just about climb the stairs to bed! Have done a lot of creative stuff with the kids though, took Caitlin to a class at the libary where she learned about africa and made a head dress

Been soooooo busy its mad! By the time kids go to bed I'm too tired to get anything done, blah. But Mum has Caitlin saturday and hopefully mark can entertain cam for a bit so I can get some time to play with paper :)

ok, getting there :)

Ok well started off the week with a HUGE to do list, but slowly gettign there now :) Unsure how granted as hardly been home lol. Managing to sell more online so garage slowly emptying too so yey! Love feeling like I'm getting stuff done, hoping to get the garage fully sorted by the end of the summer hols. Mark had hoped to be able to put a table out there but managed to convince him it just wasnt going to happen, so decided to use it as emergency storage. Both of us like to be prepared, me for weather issues such as being snowed in, Mark for zombies (yeah I know but what can you do lol) We have a few shelving sets out there already which have tinned foods on but want to do it properly, like with extra water, batteries, torches etc. OK I'm probably being a bit OTT but better safe than sorry. Was reading on pintret how to be prepared for a disaster and was amazed to read that some schools in America ask parents to donate an amount of bottled water, blankets, plus a letter for their child, so if there is a disater or an attack they're prepared for it. Scary really but you never know whats going to happen, makes me feel better to think we're a bit ready for it :)
On a less scary note lol. I did these layouts for the Twilight Cyber crop. I admit I can't for the life of me remember the criteria or who set them (and cant find it on facebook) but they are done anyway lol. This layout was done with leftovers from a class kit at the Sarahs cards retreat. Loved the swirls and the colours. The photo is from when we were in Turkey, we went to a thermal spa sulpher pool which though it stunk was so relaxing. The kids loved it and took us a while to coax them out lol. It was too hot for my mum so she was camreaman for a while. Got some great photos which I was thrilled with as I'm not usually in the photos.

This layout is actually prettier in real life. The background paper has got lots of embossing and glitter on you cant really see in the photo.
Photos are from Turkey again, :) At dinner they would have all these carved watermelons around the fruit. The puddings were amazingly presented too, with chocolate carvings and bread bowls. ohhhh I want to go back!!!

So not much planned for tomorrow, going to get painting out for the kids in the garden and get some more tidying done. Also hopefully find more bits to sell at the car boot sunday. Our washign machine just gave up the ghost so any extra pennies will be helpful!

Pintrest

Among many things I'm a pintrest addict, lol. Particually lately during the day, cant watch my TV as Criminal minds isnt really appropriate for the kids, and sitting for a coffee certainly doesnt last long enough to warrent hunting down my kindle (really need to find that thing :s) so I'll scroll through a few pages of Pintrest on my phone. To be honest its been a godsend so far this holiday. Saw loads of great ideas for the kids for things to do, and funny pictures of animals to show Cameron too; he loves animals doing daft things.
One idea I got from Pintrest was these. spaghetti hot dogs.

How funny are these! lol, Its actually amazingly easy to do, just cut up ready made hot dogs, skewer them with dried spaghetti and then boil. I did plan on taking a picture when it was cooked but it was eaten too quickly! Pretty impressive considering Cameron hates pasta, lol.
Next Pintrest masterpiece was this, dirt cake :) Another amazingly simple idea, its just 'dream topping' covered in crushed Oreos and jelly sweets. You're supposed to use worms but Daddy beat us to them so we had to use cherries lol. Caitlin had a great time making this as it needed such minimal input from me she felt she'd done it all by herself. Aunty Nicola stole a bite before I got a picture but managed to get the rest lol.

Holidays are pretty painless so far. Took caitlin to a crafting class today where she learned about indian headdress' and made one. Was really proud of her as she was the youngest there by a wide margain but joined in and really enjoyed it :) Theres an Aricain mask class next week so will try and convince cam to come along to this one lol, he stayed home today to watch Grandad build a fence round the front to cover our bins. Hated it before because as soon as you walked up to the house it was one of the first things you saw, now looks so much better. :)
Right better get to bed, up early tomorrow for a theme park trip. I'll leave with this funny comment from cameron, remember how I said he was a drama queen? Him and Caitlin were playing today, cameron fell over on the trampoline and refused to get up
Caitlin - Come on you're fine.
Cameron - No I'm not fine I'm dead!
Told you, drama queen.

How is this my first post this month!

I can't believe its August 5th already!! This summer is flying past! Ive been meaning to share these layouts for the past few day but since computer time is limited with kids at home, and as I've been selling lots on facebook (again lol) just havent had the time to blog.
Anyway, these are more from the Twilight cyber crop, this was a challenge set by Lisa, rules were:
1 - Use 3 sheets of paper you bought but now dislike - done
2 - Use 4 pictures or more - done
3 - Use a piece of equipment you never use - used my mists
4 - Use your favourite ever sketch - dont really have a fave sketch so scraplifted my first published layout, which is obviously special to me :)
5 - Make a double layout with all this - done :)
I thought I was going to hate this challenge as so much of it is 'use things you dont like' but actually really enjoyed it. One of Lisas other challenges involved using a funny photo or title, which I got mixed up on and did here but oh well lol. These photos are from my mums 50th, where even though it was March the weather was better than it is now and the kids all had water pistols lol. They had a great time terrorising the adults so I wanted the layout to be about that fun they had, so i came up with 'Our demands are simple'
Layout one shows the kids squirting everyone

Sister not impressed lol

Then the second layout had a list of 'demands' which were:
- Bedtime is when WE say so.
- Cerial is an acceptable dinner food
- Brushing teeth isn't important, falsies look fun.
- Theres no such thing as too many toys
- Always love us unconditionally

Each 'Demand' has a button next to it except for the final demand where I used a heart charm.

Well busy day again today, got errands to run and shopping to get before hopefully relaxing at a mates house this afternoon while the kids play. How well they play though remains to be seen! Camerons been SUCH a whinge lately! Dont know if hes still poorly, tired or just bored but crying at the daftest things, he had an early night last night so hopefully will be in a better mood today :)
